Performance Firing and Community Hearth

Community Hearth Events

Started by Susan St Lawrence in 2011 and still active in 2015, the Community Hearth Projects are large performance kiln firings with lots of participants and supporters.

They are a chance for people to experience the sense of occasion and camaraderie that arises around a potter's wood-fired kiln.

The 'reveal' of the glowing sculpture at the peak of the firing is a rare and primal experience not to be missed.
